Компания Кока-Кола создала в Пакистане Coke Studio, которая прославилась своими live studio recordings. Некоторые из музыкантов, участвующих в проектах Coke Studio, уже нам знакомы по темам в разделе Пакистанский рок.

В 2008-2009 годы записано два сезона состоящих их пяти эпизодов.

Уже известный нам Arieb Azhar (http://www.lossy.ru/forums/showthread.php?t=1185) принес поэзию мистика и поэта Khwaja Ghulam Farid (1845-1901) в Coke Studio. Композиция 'Husn-e-Haqiqi' из первого альбома Ажара 'Wajj' переводится примерно как “Красота Истины”, слова и их английский перевод (http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=159915435328).

Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwali is made up of two lead singers (Rizwan and Muazzam), five secondary singers leading the choral response and vigorous hand claps two harmonium players and a tabla player. They perform in traditional Qawwali style - sitting on the ground rather than on seats - which they believe brings them closer to God Last year, the intensity of their songs and stage performance led one commentator, only half-jokingly, to call them "the Qawwali Clash." The original Qawwali repertoire of Farsi (Persian), Punjabi, and Braj Blia sha (an old form of Hindi) has given way in recent times to Urdu and Arabic. Romantic love is used as a metaphor for spiritual adoration and mystical enlightenment, drawing upon a rich vein of poetic imagery. It is not surprising; therefore, that Qawwali has become a staple of Bollywood film scores.

Rizwan Muazzam is belong to Ustad Nusrat Fateh ali Khan (Late) Rizwan Muazzam father is first cousin of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan And son of Mubarak Ali Khan.

These nephews of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, then, come from a direct family line of Qawwali vocal music that spans over five centuries. Their inventive reinterpretetions oi spiritual love songs based upon classical Islamic and Sufi texts was first showcased in the UK in July 1998, at the WOMAD Festival in Reading, to much critical acclaim, and has since journeyed to the far corners oi the globe.

В этом эпизоде 5 треков. Интересно появление легендарной суфийской певицы Абиды Парвин (она родилась в 1954 году, в городе Лакрана, провинции Синдх, в Пакистане в атмосфере Суфийской культуры и музыки. Ее отец знаменитый суфийский учитель Устад Гхулям Хайдер).

The episode features five distinct tracks, ranging from profoundly Sufic to movingly patriotic.

Amanat Ali performs the patriotic anthem ‘1. Ae Wattan Kay Sajeelay Jawanon’, a tribute to the legendary Madam Noor Jehan. The pride and sincerity in performing this number is evident across the board during its entirety, and it is hard not to feel moved.

Next, Tina Sani’s renders ‘2. Nawai Ney’, derived from Maulana Rumi’s ‘Masnavi’. She is accompanied by flautist Baqir Abbas, who returns to the sets of Coke Studio and brings the analogy to life with his soothing flute play. For her third performance in Coke Studio sessions, Sufi singer Sanam Marvi renders a Sachal Sarmast work ‘3. Manzil-e-Sufi’. Brilliantly unique, this improvisational track stands out not only for rhythm and melody but the incorporation of various modern influences.

Abida Parveen’s indomitable presence and inimitable style is showcased a final time in this season of Coke Studio with ‘4. Soz-e-Ishq’. With her soulful strains, Parveen takes us into depths of Sufism and evokes passion, love and spirituality.

Rizwan and Muazzam with their qawwal ensemble deliver another exhilarating Sufi number ‘5. Jana Jogi Dey Naal’, originally penned by mystic Baba Bulleh Shah.
